About us

Bringing your Garden Dreams to Life

Hi, I’m Beth. I’m the hands-in-the-dirt grower behind Busy Bloomin. I’m a former biologist who swapped microscopes for marigolds and now grow seasonal flowers in my small backyard garden in California’s Zone 9B. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a full-blown obsession—equal parts science, joy, and trial and error (with a healthy dose of compost).

I’ve got two teen daughters who double as my social media managers (and aren’t shy about telling me what works and what doesn’t), a supportive husband who built my greenhouse from scratch, and a scruffy little garden sidekick named Mochi who’s usually found digging where she shouldn’t.

I believe beautiful gardens belong to everyone and should be accessible—no matter the size of your space, budget, or experience level. I work with local schools and community gardens to help bring more flowers and garden education into shared spaces. Whether it’s donating seedlings grown in my backyard, curating flowers for DIY brides, or encouraging kids get their hands in the dirt for the first time, I love being part of that growth.

Why:
I grow flowers because it keeps me grounded. It’s honest work that forces me to slow down and appreciate the process—even when things don’t go as planned. It’s messy, unpredictable, and never perfect, but that’s kind of the point.

Around here, we celebrate the beauty in the imperfections.
